Packshot

Definition

Packshot can be defined as a still or a moving image or a photograph of a product that can be used as a way of advertising it. Creating a packshot can be time consuming but it will help customers to better understand the real look of the product.

Description

The main goal of packshots is to show selling products as realistically as possible and that way helps to advertise it in print or online media. This term can be also substituted for a product placement.

Creation of packshots is a creative process which can be done basically in two ways. First way is to physically take a picture of the product with the camera on the white background, edit it and use it for advertisement. Second way of creating packshot is to digitally make it with software. Second way can be oftentimes cheaper and less time consuming for companies. Digital creation doesn’t require good lightning, large space, special props etc.

You can take a look at examples of packshots in our gallery.
